The Los Angeles Dodgers have the best record in baseball by a mile, but aren’t done adding players, apparently. The club acquired outfielder Curtis Granderson from the New York Mets for a player to be named later.

The trade was announced Friday night.
Granderson is hitting .228/.334/.481 with 19 home runs this season, in the final year of a four-year, $60 million contract. Granderson is making $15 million in 2017, with roughly $3.6 million remaining on the deal.
New York is sending cash to Los Angeles as part of the trade.
This has been a busy trading season for the Mets, who lost on Friday night to fall to 53-67 on the season.
New York has traded several veterans in the last month, including first baseman Lucas Duda, relief pitcher Addison Reed, second baseman Neil Walker, outfielder Jay Bruce, and now Granderson.
The writing was on the wall for a trade of Granderson earlier in the week, when general manager Sandy Alderson after the Walker trade told reporters, “We still have inventory.”
As for how Granderson fits on the Dodgers, that remains to be seen. The left-handed batter is hitting .230/.349/.504 against right-handed pitchers in 2017, compared to just .225/.290/.416 against lefties, so he’ll likely platoon if he plays at least semi-regularly.
Dodgers center fielder Joc Pederson, also left-handed, is hitting .215/.329/.418 this season, but is currently in a 2-for-41 slump. Granderson started 56 games in center field for the Mets this season, 24 games in right field, and four in left.
Granderson didn’t play in Friday’s loss.
