Japan and North Carolina earned spots in their respective championship games with wins on Wednesday at the 2017 Little League World Series, while the team from Fairfield, Connecticut moved on to play another elimination game on Thursday in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Little League World Series scores and bracket 2017: Japan, North Carolina earn title game berths

Japan shut out Canada 10-0 in a battle of previously unbeaten teams on Wednesday, earning a spot in Saturday’s international championship game. Japan has outscored its opponents 22-1 in three games so far, and will play for the international championship on Saturday.
On the United States side of the bracket, North Carolina finally allowed its first hit of the tournament — a double in the third inning of its third game — and allowed its first run, but rallied for a 2-1 win over Texas. The winning run was scored in the seventh inning on a walk-off error.
Connecticut and Jackson, New Jersey were washed out on Wednesday, and postponed their game to Thursday afternoon. These two teams battled in a 7-6 nail-biter in their opening game of the tournament last week, but on Wednesday it was all Connecticut, who got a grand slam and five RBI from Troy Ashkinos en route to a 12-2 win.
That moves Connecticut one step closer to the U.S. championship game. First, they have to play Texas to get there.
Wednesday scores
Game 22: Connecticut 12, New Jersey 2
Game 23: Japan 10, Canada 0
Game 24: North Carolina 2, Texas 1 (7 innings)
