The Mayweather vs. McGregor spectacle on Saturday is one of the most anticipated sporting events in recent memory, perhaps because many people expect something bizarre to happen in the obscure matchup between undefeated boxer and prohibitive favorite Floyd Mayweather and MMA fighter Conor McGregor.
Mayweather vs. McGregor updated odds: Money line bets pouring in for Conor McGregor

Mayweather is a -500 favorite, per bookmaker William Hill, meaning a $500 bet if successful would win only $100. The bookmaker reported a wager from Nevada on Wednesday for $300,000 on Mayweather to win, which would net said gambler $60,000 should the favorite prevail.
But according to William Hill, 93 percent of the money-line tickets wagered are for McGregor, who is a +400 underdog, meaning a $100 bet would win $400 should he pull the upset. That is down from the opening line in June of +700.
In a press conference on Wednesday in Las Vegas, McGregor eschewed his underdog status, boldly proclaiming, “I’m gonna f**k this boy up. Make no mistake.”
This fight could end up setting records for most money wagered on a boxing match, including money flowing in on prop bets, including the macabre.
“The handle is insane. It is easily going to pass the handle for any fight ever booked in the state of Nevada,” said Nick Bogdanovich, the director of trading at William Hill. “The liability is equally insane, as tickets are coming in on Conor McGregor at about an eighteen to one clip.
“The props are all drawing fantastic action with the most popular being will McGregor get disqualified. A lot of people believe that McGregor will get frustrated and eventually snap and do something Tyson like.”
Mayweather has always been good at defense in the ring. Maybe he will be able to protect his ears on Saturday.
