Conor McGregor landed 111 punches against Floyd Mayweather. That’s 81.5 more than the over/under

All of Ireland in one fist was still no match for Money Mayweather.

Conor McGregor was expected to land only 29.5 punches when he entered the ring against the world’s best boxer, Floyd Mayweather. Not only did he exceed those expectations, he damn near quadrupled them.

The Notorious landed 111 punches against the undefeated Mayweather on Saturday night in the biggest sporting event in recent memory. It’s a consolation prize for the UFC’s most heralded fighter — who was declared TKO’d in the 10th round by referee Robert Byrd after a flurry of Mayweather punches left him dazed on the ropes — but it’s a feat few others have ever accomplished against one of the shiftiest defensive boxers of all-time.

McGregor dealt more blows to Mayweather than Manny Pacquiao did. Canelo Alvarez hit Mayweather 117 times, compared to Pacquiao’s 81. McGregor fell smack in the middle of the two boxers at 111 hits.

Mayweather didn’t hold back blows himself. The Money Team’s finest landed 53 percent of his hits vs. 26 percent for McGregor, to win the bout. This is why they call him The Money Team, folks. He’s Benjamins in the bank.
