A free night of boxing will be streamed and broadcast by ESPN and the ESPN App, all culminating in the televised bout between Vasyl Lomachenko and Miguel Marriaga on Saturday. Lomachenko is one of the best super featherweights in the world, and Marriaga is a high-level gatekeeper who will determine which direction Lomachenko’s career goes at this important juncture.

Saturday’s undercard features several high-level bouts. The ESPN-televised card begins at 10 p.m. ET and includes the Lomachenko fight as well as a matchup between Ray Beltran and Bryan Vasquez in the lightweight division. Other undercard bouts are live-streamed via ESPN3 and the ESPN App beginning at 7 p.m.

Lomachenko will be defending his WBO title, and is hoping to improve to 9-1 on his career. He has six knockouts, and one split-decision loss to Orlando Salido back in 2014. Lomachenko has wanted a rematch with Salido, especially because many thought the decision was controversial. That fight couldn’t come together.

Many want Lomachenko to step up in competition and he’s doing that with Marriaga, even if it wasn’t his first choice of fight. Marriaga is still one of the more dangerous opponents out there for Lomachenko, as he’s had some impressive showings. In a unanimous-decision loss to Oscar Valdez, Marriaga looked good, and has some quality wins in recent bouts.

Still, Lomachenko is the heavy favorite.

Beltran is defending his NABF and NABO lightweight titles against two-time interim WBA super featherweight world champion Vasquez. The two are grizzled veterans of the sport with plenty to gain and lose in a fight with one another. Beltran has won his last four fights by knockout, and he has been vocal about wanting to knock Vasquez out Saturday.
