We’ll give Andy Dalton the benefit of the doubt, for this week anyway. Being a game manager isn’t as easy as it sounds, and the Bengals have all kinds of problems. But quarterback problems overshadow everything, and Dalton’s been ruinous against the Ravens.
Andy Dalton is in playoff form
The Bengals QB has five turnovers. Does he think it’s January?

He threw three interceptions in the first half. He lost a fumble in the red zone too. He added a fourth pick in the fourth quarter.
This is the first time Dalton’s thrown a trio of picks in the regular season since 2014. It’s the first time he’s had four turnovers in a game since 2013.
At least the Bengals won that game. They got shut out, 20-0, against the Ravens this week.
Forget the turnovers. The low point for Dalton came on fourth-and-5 with four and a half minutes to play in the game. He threw the ball away. On fourth down.
These numbers are bad enough to look like his postseason production. In four playoff games, Dalton has one touchdown, six interceptions, and a 57.8 rating. He hasn’t been in a playoff game since the 2014 season, and if he doesn’t get the kinks ironed out soon enough, he’s not likely to have the chance to add to his, um, impressive playoff resume this season.
