Michael Bennett continued his national anthem protest into Week 1 of the NFL season by sitting during the national anthem. According to Greg Bell of the News Tribune, Justin Britt stood next to Bennett, while Cliff Avril and Frank Clark came over to shake Bennett’s hand. Avril then sat, per Bell.

On the Packers’ side, Bennett’s brother Martellus raised his right fist during the anthem in protest.
Michael Bennett shared his account of police officers in Las Vegas that he says pointed a gun at his head, jammed a knee in his back, and handcuffed him so tightly that his fingers went numb. Bennett said that the incident happened the night of the Mayweather-McGregor fight.
Bennett, and the people around him heard what they believed to be gun shots, so Bennett says he and others ran for safety, when police singled him out.

Eric Reid took a knee, and teammates put their hands on him
Reid was one of two 49ers that took a knee with Kaepernick all throughout the 2016 season. He’s continuing it into the 2017 season, and on Sunday, teammates put their hands on him in support.
Rams’ Robert Quinn raises his right fist
Quinn had been raising his right fist since 2016, which he started after Colin Kaepernick started the protest movement.

50 members of Kappa Alpha Psi alumni chapter marched in Detroit
According to the AP, Kaepernick’s fraternity brothers gathered prior to the Lions’ game against the Cardinals.
The march went on for a mile that ended outside of Ford Field.
”When you look at some of the recent incidents like what happened to Michael Bennett in Las Vegas, it validates the stance that Colin Kaepernick has taken,” Eric Brown, a former president of the fraternity’s alumni chapter in Detroit told the Associated Press.
