Steelers rookie JuJu Smith-Schuster delivered the best hit of Week 2 (and he’s a wide receiver)

Retired NFL lineman Geoff Schwartz presents the most disrespectful blocks from Week 2. This week, a couple of skill players made the list.

Your favorite video of the week is back ... Disrespectful Blocks of the Week! This week, we have some treats for you. Two blocks from linemen and two blocks from the skill players!

I LOVE the skill guys getting in the mix. Please, please, please, tweet me on Sunday or Monday when you see a block that needs to be reviewed for this video. I’m on Twitter. On to the blocks.

Bravo to Steelers rookie wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster. This is a bone crushing block by a receiver which is normally seen by veteran wideouts who have played awhile. The Steelers must have known he was capable of this block, otherwise they wouldn’t have sent him into the hole like this. What a block. My favorite of the week.

Next up is the Canadian doctor, Chiefs right guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardif. Using zone footwork, he perfectly times up the spot to meet the linebacker, squares up, and knocks him over like a folding chair. This is pure strength and acceleration here. The Eagles linebacker didn’t trip or anything. Got his legs buckled.

Ron Leary was a big free agent signing for the Denver Broncos. He played an excellent game on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.

There were many to choose from, but I liked this block the best. Here he pulls and flattens Sean Lee. Leary hits him with the wrong foot and wrong shoulder and still knocks him down. Impressive

Last but not least, Raiders tight end Lee Smith. When offensive linemen are in pass protection and have no one to block, we look for work. When we look for work, we specifically look to target the ribs.

If you target the head, it’s a flag and fine. If you target the hip, you won’t move the defender. A half slab of ribs is a good shot. But a full slab of ribs, that’s where it’s at. That’s when you knock the defender to the ground, both feet off the ground style. So here we have a tight end getting himself a full slab of defender rib meat. It’s glorious.
