Victor Oladipo sings in his new single called ‘Song for You’

He’s not the first NBA player to sing a song.

Pacers guard Victor Oladipo doesn’t only play basketball; he sings, too. And Oladipo put his vocals on display when he dropped his single, “Song For You,” on Thursday.

Basketball players sometimes double as music artists. Both Damian Lillard and Iman Shumpert record music in their spare time and just might go at each other in a rap battle soon. No. 2 overall pick Lonzo Ball raps on the side, including the lyrics to his commercial for the new edition of his ZO2:Prime sneakers.

Oladipo’s even got some company on the singing front. Jerry Stackhouse, after all, performed the national anthem on multiple occasions. That takes balls, and a lot of practice. Ex-Knick and Celtic Walter McCarty also performed the national anthem and has since dropped quite a few songs since retiring in 2006.

I don’t have much of an opinion about Oladipo’s vocals. I’ll leave it to the pros to dissect his tone and pitch. But it’s cool that he’s finally put out a piece of work he feels proud of.
