2017 NHL training camp start dates and locations

It’s already September, and that means the beginning of NHL training camps is just around the corner. Players will begin reporting after the long offseason in a few days, effectively marking the beginning of the road to the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Training camp is a crucial time each year for teams to finalize their rosters. There will be unproven prospects trying to make the NHL leap for the first time and veteran journeymen on professional tryout deals looking to extend their careers for at least one more year.

And of course, there will be position battles. Lots and lots of position battles. Teams will be figuring out who fits on which line, who is the backup goalie, who gets that sixth defensive spot, and so on.

With that in mind, we wanted to provide a handy guide to the dates and locations of every NHL training camp entering the 2017-18 season. We’ll also provide a link to the SB Nation team blog for each franchise if you’re looking for more in-depth coverage of each camp.

Not every team has announced its official dates yet, but we’ll keep this post regularly updated all month.
