The Chiefs had a rocky start against the Patriots and decided to get creative on their second drive of the game by running the option with Travis Kelce.
Chiefs ran the option with Travis Kelce, and it worked
It ended up being the spark the Chiefs needed.

After Alex Smith looked like he was going to take the snap, he and Kelce switched positions in the backfield. Kelce then took the snap and ran the option with Tyreek Hill.
It was a second-and-1, and Kelce actually got the Patriots defense to bite just enough on Hill to where he was able to pick up the first down himself.
Was it the most impressive play? It wasn’t, but considering the way the Chiefs offense was running, a first down is fine and good. It also helped the Chiefs finally get things going on offense, where they were able to tie the game after a Smith touchdown pass to Demetrius Harris.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid isn’t afraid to let other players take snaps at quarterback. Last season, Dontari Poe threw the heaviest touchdown pass ever, weighing a gigantic 346 pounds.
We’re all on board with Reid sharing the wealth at quarterback.
