The stories about Vikings’ receiver Stefon Diggs’ game-winning touchdown against the Saints keep coming. This latest one almost seems too good to be true.
The Vikings’ long snapper has now seen 2 NFL ‘miracles’
If there are two games you’re gonna be at, these seem like a good pair.

Vikings long snapper Kevin McDermott has now witnessed two “miracles.”
He was in attendance for the “Music City Miracle” in 2000 as a 9-year-old. Then this past Sunday, he was on the sideline for the “Minneapolis Miracle” as a player.
“It kind of hit me the next day,” McDermott said Wednesday to the Pioneer Press. “It’s kind of crazy. I heard some people say that (Sunday’s play) is one of the top five NFL plays of all time, and one that other people think about is the ‘Music City Miracle.’ I was like, ‘Heck, I’ve been at both of those.’”
The “Music City Miracle” brought on the first truly memorable video review in NFL history. Frank Wycheck’s pass to Kevin Dyson was — like many plays — too close to overturn, and the Titans beat the Bills in dramatic fashion. Up to that point, it was one of the most incredible finishes in NFL playoff history. Since then, of course, we’ve seen a variety of incredible catches, but nothing has quite matched it as an end-of-game moment until this past Sunday.
“It was pretty special,” McDermott said. “I was in the stands with my family. I was a football fan, and the Titans were the team that had come to (Nashville in 1998). It was the first playoff game in Tennessee history.”
But like most things in life, just when you think things couldn’t be better, they get better.
“It was pretty special to be at the ‘Music City Miracle,’” he said. “But this one meant a lot more because I’m on the team.”
McDermott will have at least one more game this season with the Vikings, but being on the sidelines for the “Minneapolis Miracle” is going to be a hard moment to top.
