Championship Sunday blessed us with not one, not two, but THREE successful flea flickers

A trio of tricks!

Championship Sunday is always a great one. It was even better this season, because of the trio of flea flickers that we saw.

The Jaguars and Patriots both traded flea flickers in their game to get us started off in the late afternoon, and would later be followed up by Nick Foles and Torrey Smith, who connected on a beauty.

Let’s take a look at all three.

Blake Bortles and the Jags got us started.

While Blake Bortles and the Jaguars were still looking like they were in business against the Patriots, they pulled out the tricks.

T.J. Yeldon tossed the football back to Blake Bortles, who found Allen Hurns for a 20-yard gain while the Jags were up 20-10 in the fourth quarter:

Unfortunately the Jaguars couldn’t get enough of those in, and the Patriots were able to finish yet another comeback postseason win.

The Patriots dialed up their own.

Part of the Patriots’ comeback against the Jaguars involved their own trickery.

Jacksonville’s defense had an incredible first half, which required the Patriots to get a little more fancy in the second. That’s what they did on their flea flicker later in the fourth:

The Patriots aren’t exactly strangers to the flea flicker, but it definitely had to be pulled out Sunday afternoon.

A red-hot Nick Foles and the Eagles got in on the action.

On the first drive of the second half, the Eagles used eight plays to go 75 yards in just under five minutes. It was capped off by a flea flicker from Nick Foles to Torrey Smith for 41 yards and a touchdown:

That completion for a touchdown put Foles at 20-for-27 on the night with 276 yards and two touchdowns.

This one has to be the best of them all day, because of the length and difficult catch (which also went for a touchdown!).
