Larry Nassar has been sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison on charges of sexual criminal misconduct, according to The Associated Press.

Nassar is a former USA Gymnastics doctor and sports medicine physician at Michigan State University, who over the span of 20 years sexually abused and assaulted women under the guise of physical treatment. At least 190 survivors have come forward.

In 2017, Nassar pleaded guilty to 10 counts of first-degree criminal sexual misconduct. He was also sentenced to 60 years in prison on three federal child pornography charges.

The sentencing hearing for Nassar related to the criminal sexual misconduct counts began on Jan. 16 and was expected to continue for four days, with over 100 women coming forward to read Victim Impact Statements in court. The hearing ultimately stretched to seven total days, with over 150 survivors — including Olympians Aly Raisman, Jordyn Wieber, McKayla Maroney, and Jamie Dantzscher — choosing to address the court with their statements.
