NBA Scores 2018: The Wizards are broken and 8 other things from Thursday night

Russell Westbrook went off, the Heat have the best jerseys, and more.

The Wizards look like they could use a refresher course at Hogwarts, because they’re a damn mess right now and no one knows how to fix them. Not even their All-Star backcourt.

They combined for 61 points, 19 assists, and 13 rebounds and still couldn’t manage to get a win against the Thunder. Bradley Beal balled out, but John Wall’s stat line was much better than he actually played. Russell Westbrook dominated Washington’s All-Star point guard with 46 points, and he looked absolutely clueless on defense.

I mean, look at this:

That’s one video in an isolated moment, but this has happened all too often for Wall this season. He’s a solid defender who can play at a B-plus level when he wants to, but he gives that effort only half the time he’s on the floor. That’s unacceptable for him — especially when his shooting numbers are down.

The Wizards are still four games over .500, so it’s not too late to fix these problems. But they’re the sixth seed in the conference right now and could fall down to eight — and even out of the playoffs — if they’re not careful. They’d better get it right soon.

Russell Westbrook may have been secretly motivated by thinking he was the last All-Star draft pick

When you think about it more, it makes so much sense why Westbrook had 46 points on Thursday night. He spent the game thinking LeBron James had picked him last in the draft.

James posted his draft list on Instagram, and Westbrook’s name came in last:

But it turns out that it was just in alphabetical order. Russ didn’t know that initially, though, and you can see how irritated he is when he’s asked about being part of Team LeBron:

“I see I was last picked on the list,” Westbrook said after Carmelo Anthony told him to “tell them how you really feel.”

Whoops! Lol. Disaster averted.

The Heat introduced their cool Miami Vice jerseys, but the video may have been even cooler

Look at this thing:

The video makes me want to simultaneously suit up, run through a wall and still feel cool while doing it with all my busted up limbs. That’s easily the best jersey in the league right now without a close second.

The Trail Blazers twitter account remains the best

How to make fun of yourself 101 with the Trail Blazers’ social staff. This is an excellent tweet:

James drafted Kevin Durant with the first-overall pick in the All-Star draft, and he was gracious about it, saying “well, finally someone picked me No. 1.” Of course, the Blazers had the opportunity to do that in 2008 when they drafted Greg Oden. Can’t win ‘em all, right? At least they apologized.
