No one tried very hard to tackle Harrison Smith on his 79-yard pick-6

To be fair, 80 yards is a long way to run.

As a rule, no one tries very hard at the NFL Pro Bowl. That goes double for offensive players tasked with chasing down a runner after a turnover.

The AFC proved that Sunday after Harrison Smith intercepted a Ben Roethlisberger fourth-down pass at the NFC 21-yard line. The Vikings’ safety corralled the ball and then ran virtually untouched into the end zone, giving his conference a 17-3 lead midway through the second quarter.

No one gave up on the play harder than tight end Delanie Walker, who caught up to Smith, ran into his field of vision, then just sorta fell over instead of tackling him.

What this means for the NFC: That makes it a two-touchdown lead for the NFC, which could be tough to overcome given the pouring rain that has descended on Orlando. The AFC will have to break out a bevy of trick plays to get back in this one.
