The New York Giants are making two very big statements right before the trade deadline by shipping off defensive players. First, they aren’t happy with their production on that side of the ball and feel like they can do better.
The Giants show aversion to food by trading Eli Apple and ‘Snacks’ Harrison
The temerity on these guys. I mean come on.

The Eli Apple trade was one thing. But another conclusion can be drawn after the following:
Giants management has a clear aversion to food.
Eli APPLE? SNACKS Harrison? I mean, it’s painfully obvious. Olivier Vernon is one less “i” in his first name from being traded to the Cardinals or some other terrible NFC team.
And I mean, talk about a slight to New York City, trading your No. 10 overall pick whose last name is the nickname for your revered city. I’m not saying this would be like the Yankees trading Derek Jeter, but it might as well be. They also traded the wrong Eli.
The millions of food consuming people in New York are must be deeply disappointed, minus the 15 people who actually like and follow the Jets.
Credit to SB Nation NFL editor Ryan Van Bibber as well, pointing out that this is the greatest affront to healthy eating since Andy Reid implemented “Taco Tuesday” and “Fast Food Friday.”
Giants owner John Mara told reporters last week that he wasn’t sure that the Giants were going to be a quick fix. If the team’s nutrition is going to be down because of this anti-food movement, it’s hard to disagree with him.
