Lee Corso is a college football institution, and this week ESPN brought him on to do make a signature NFL pick. Corso picked the Saints to beat the Rams on Sunday, and naturally that meant leaning into his trademark.
Lee Corso picked the Saints in his first-ever NFL mascot pick
NFL Corso!

Corso wore the head or “Sir Saint,” a classic team mascot who was recently brought back to the fold to rep the team alongside “Gumbo the Dog,” and while that chin is confronting (and looks deeply problematic) it’s nice to see Corso in the NFL fold.
It’s unclear how often ESPN will use Corso for NFL picks. This week was a matter of kismet, as the College Gameday host was already in Louisiana for the game on Saturday between LSU and Alabama, with ESPN broadcasting live from New Orleans. This is only the third time NFL Countdown has gone on the road, with the broadcast selected with both the Saints and Rams being two of the best teams in NFC so far this year.
The NFL has been allergic to fun in the past, even in broadcast form. If it takes Lee Corso donning a helmet with a set of testicles on the chin, well, so be it.
