A swarm of birds invaded the field during Browns vs. Chiefs

A flock of birds wasn’t as lucky for the Browns as the rally possum

FirstEnergy Stadium already had a possum invader earlier in 2018. Now it’s a swarm of pigeons that also decided a Cleveland Browns game is a good place to hang out.

During the third quarter of a Week 9 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, birds decided to land on the open half of the field. Many, many birds.

They didn’t leave when the ball crossed into Chiefs territory either. After Kansas City kicked a field goal in the fourth quarter, the group of birds was right between the two teams for the subsequent kickoff.

The birds stayed for the second half, just moving around the field wherever football wasn’t happening.

Cleveland’s possum visit earlier in the year turned out to be a good omen for the Browns, who went on to win their first game in nearly two years. But that doesn’t look as likely against the powerhouse Chiefs, who have dominated most of the day.

Then-defensive coordinator and current interim head coach Gregg Williams said that he used to eat possums growing up.

Has Gregg Williams ever eaten pigeon? Let’s not rule it out.
