Coming out of a bye week and off of a humiliating 49-20 loss to the Purdue Boilermakers, bettors were expecting a much better performance from the Buckeyes than the 36-31 nailbiter that they got against the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Ohio State was a 17.5-point favorite, failing to cover the spread for the fifth straight game. The loss of Nick Bosa to a season-ending injury has had a major impact on this defense which has allowed 29.2 points per game over this five-game stretch.

Michigan State has been all over the place over the course of its 6-3 SU and 4-5 ATS season, picking up good wins over Penn State and Purdue and bad losses against Northwestern and Arizona State.

Ohio State’s path to this point hasn’t been pretty, but its College Football Playoff chances are still alive as a potential one-loss Big Ten champion. The season ending showdown against Michigan looms large, but to keep that one relevant the Buckeyes need to avoid another poor showing this Saturday.
