The United States survived the cut, but Team USA has a little bit of work to do if it hopes to earn a gold medal in team figure skating. The Americans sit in third place as we enter the final day of the figure skating team competition, set for Sunday night and featuring the free skating events.

The men’s free skate will take place at 8 p.m. ET, and the women’s free skate will get underway at 9:10 p.m. Finally, the athletes in the ice dancing event will begin at 10:20 p.m. NBC (live stream) will broadcast these competitions, and fans can watch every event airing on NBC via FuboTV.

“The Shibs” -- Maia Shibutani and Alex Shibutani, Team USA’s ice dancers — gave America a lot to cheer about during Saturday’s ice dancing short program competition. The siblings had a strong performance with a 75.46 score, good for second place. Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue finished in first place Saturday with a score of 80.51 and helped Canada get out to a powerful lead overall with 45 points.

The Russian athletes — competing under a neutral flag with their nation banned from the games after a massive doping coverup — are in second with 39 points. Evgenia Medvedeva earned the highest score in the ladies’ short program to help her team.

USA is in third with 36 points, while Italy is just outside of medal position with 35.

USA figure skating announced Adam Rippon will compete in the men’s free skate, and Mirai Nagasu will skate in the ladies’ free skate.
