Now over halfway through the events for the 2018 Winter Olympics, Team USA continues to claim a stronghold on most snowboard competitions — except snowboard cross, for some reason — and will try adding another snowboard medal to the haul beginning on Tuesday night. The men’s big air competition will get underway with the qualifying runs on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. ET, which can be live streamed online via NBC.

Can Team USA add to its snowboard medal collection? It will try on Tuesday.

The 2018 Winter Games mark the big air competition’s debut on the Olympic stage. While big air is an event for both snowboarders and skiers, only the snowboarding event was added to this year’s games.
Among the top competitors expected to hit the ramp include Mark McMorris and Max Parrot (Canada), Marcus Kleveland (Norway), and Chris Corning from Team USA. Corning has been garnering some medal buzz during training, having landed a quad, but has yet to nail the trick during competition.
All four boarders competing for the United States also shredded in the men’s snowboard slopestyle event, where Redmond Gerard took home the gold. Gerard will go against teammates Corning, Kyle Mack, and Ryan Stassel for big air gold.
