Olympics 2018: TV listings, streaming info, medals, and what to watch on Friday, February 23

Friday will be a busy day in Pyeonchang, South Korea, with a number of medal events taking place throughout the day. For the Americans, one of the most exciting events will be the gold medal match in men’s curling late Friday evening/early Saturday morning.

USA’s men’s curling team, led by skip John Shuster, rebounded from a 2-4 start in the round robin tournament, then beat Canada, Switzerland, and Great Britain to advance to the gold medal game. Shuster himself is pumped, as made evident from his Twitter account:

“I think I just decided that 50 years from now, when my kids are showing my grandkids video from the Olympics, I didn’t want all my videos to be me failing,’’ Shuster said via the Minnesota Star Tribune. “Our team has had its back against the wall plenty of times. But, come on. It’s the Olympics. Who’s going to give up? We’re just ready.’’

Other medal events on Friday include the Alpine team events in both small and big finals, the Men’s 50km Mass Start Classic in cross-country, the women’s bronze medal match in curling, and the men’s bronze medal game in hockey.

In snowboarding, we’ll have the Men’s Big Air Final. There were supposed to be medal events for both the men’s and women’s parallel slalom runs, but they have been rescheduled to an undetermined time.

Lastly in speed skating, we’ll have both the men’s and women’s mass start finals.
