Donovan Mitchell’s shoes pay homage to Louisville’s 2013 championship

Louisville’s championship was officially vacated earlier this month.

Donovan Mitchell rides for Louisville, no matter what. So when the school’s wins were vacated by the NCAA this week, you knew Mitchell would have something to say.

In his first game back since the All-Star break with the Jazz, Mitchell wore some custom Adidas made by Kickstradomis to show his pride in his school.

Mitchell wrote the names of the players who won the championship in 2013 on the shoes. The school’s wins were vacated by the NCAA because of a violation where team staffers brought strippers and sex workers in to help with recruiting pitches.

This wasn’t the first time Mitchell said something about Louisville’s wins being vacated, either. When it was first announced, Mitchell tweeted about the school’s championship.

It should be noted here that Mitchell isn’t saying his school is right — he’s just saying it’s silly to vacate wins for a violation. After all, we watched the Cardinals win a championship that season. No one is forgetting that.
