Despite not scheduling an official television interview before Super Bowl 52, President Donald Trump still had some thoughts about the outcome of the game between the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles.
Donald Trump tweeted congratulations to Eagles for Super Bowl 52 win
Trump was pretty quiet on Super Bowl Sunday, but did congratulate the winners.

Trump stayed mostly quiet on Super Bowl Sunday. He declined to make any public prediction and refused a pregame interview with NBC. But he did congratulate the Eagles on their 41-33 win.
A White House official confirmed to CNN on Wednesday that the president would forgo an interview with NBC. NBC didn’t win any of Trump’s fake news awards, but it’s still not his favorite network. That would be FOX, which aired Super Bowl LI. Trump did sit down with former FOX personality Bill O’Reilly before the big game last year.
That was the latest entry in the timeline of Trump’s ongoing feud with not just the media, but also the NFL. Trump has taken issue with players who peacefully protest racial inequality and police brutality during the national anthem. During a rally early in the 2017 season, Trump called each player who does it a “son of a bitch” and called for team owners to fire them immediately. NFL teams responded with league-wide protests as a sign of solidarity.
Just because Trump skipped the interview doesn’t mean he won’t have anything else to say about the game. He has strong ties to the Patriots and is a friend of owner Robert Kraft, head coach Bill Belichick, and quarterback Tom Brady.
The pre-Super Bowl interview has become a tradition over recent years. It originated with George W. Bush. Barack Obama carried it on starting in 2009, and he did one each year of his presidency.
