The Super Bowl is cool, but it’s not Chris Paul’s CP3 PBA Celebrity Invitational, a bowling tournament that he has hosted for nine years running. This Sunday, Paul suited up in his nicest bowling attire along with James Harden, Boston Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts, and former NFL receiver Terrell Owens.
The only good Super Bowl pregame is James Harden and Chris Paul bowling on ESPN
Paul hosted a celebrity bowling tournament, and it turns out Paul and Harden are great at this.

Also involved: Rockets teammates Trevor Ariza and Bobby Brown, actor Oscar Nunez, best known for playing Oscar Martinez on The Office (U.S.), and a bunch of Professional Bowlers Association stars.
This is a cool event that I had never heard about before, and it makes SO MUCH SENSE that Paul is a killer bowler. And it shines some light on this preseason gift.
But look — you guys just wanna see famous sports people bowl. I can provide you with that content. Let’s start with Paul.
Chris Paul’s bowling technique: A-minus
Naturally, Paul spins his shot and looks like a natural.
James Harden’s bowling technique: B
No spin, but look at that strike! Look how happy he is! Give Harden a bowling MVP, too, damnit.
Mookie Betts’ bowling technique: A-plus
So apparently Betts is basically a two-sport athlete — he bowled a perfect 300 during the PBA World Series of Bowling IX last year. Yeah, this is a ringer. We can’t stand for this. I’m not even a professional athlete in one sport.
Terrell Owens’ bowling technique: A-minus
OK! TO’s got the bowling chops, too!
Trevor Ariza’s bowling technique: C-plus
Yeah, Trevor! How do you not know that rule! (I am currently googling this rule. Apparently, one typical tradition is that if you miss the five pin — which should be the easiest pin, since it’s right in the middle — then you have to buy a drink for everyone who has their hand raised. Hey, I bet he can afford it.)
Oscar Nunez’s bowling technique: D
Oscar Nunez’s falling technique: A-plus
Nunz misses this shot pretty badly ... but man, he fell right over that divider beautifully! I respect that.
Look at this cool bowling thing, just because
I don’t know much about bowling, but that’s a cool spinning shot. Sorry, bowling people, please don’t yell at me about not knowing anything about it. I just thought it looked neat.
