LeGarrette Blount received a Super Bowl ring for his contributions as a member of the New England Patriots a year ago. This time, he’s trying to get one by taking down the Patriots as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.
Eagles RB LeGarrette Blount is thriving in his revenge game vs. Patriots in Super Bowl 52
LeGarrette Blount took just four rushing attempts to top his 2017 per game average.

So far, so good.
In the first half of Super Bowl 52, Blount had just a handful of touches, but broke free for a couple big plays, including a 21-yard rushing touchdown.
Before that, he burst through the line in the first quarter for a 36-yard run. With the two big plays, Blount got to 58 yards on just four first-half carries — well above his regular season average of 47.9 yards per game.
Blount scored a league-leading 18 touchdowns for the Patriots in 2016, but received just a one-year, $1.1 million tender offer from the team that was little more than a ploy to ensure New England received a compensatory pick when he left. He signed a one-year, $1.25 million deal with the Eagles instead that could reach $2.8 million if he hits bonuses.
The Patriots offense did just fine without Blount, but so far in Super Bowl 52, he’s making them pay for letting him leave.
