Rob Gronkowski caught just one pass for 9 yards in the first half against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 52. Getting him the ball more often in the second half was evidently a part of the New England Patriots’ halftime adjustments.

Rob Gronkowski had just one catch in the first half, but looked unstoppable to start the third quarter.


On the first drive of the third quarter, Tom Brady looked Gronkowski’s way often, connecting with the tight end four times for 68 (SO CLOSE) yards. The drive finished with a 5-yard touchdown pass to Gronk.
It was Gronkowski’s 11th career receiving touchdown in postseason play, putting him behind only Jerry Rice (22) and John Stallworth (12) all time. He then tied Stallworth in the fourth quarter with his second touchdown of the game.
Two weeks ago, Gronkowski was concussed in the first half of an AFC Championship matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars and wasn’t cleared to join the Patriots in practice until three days before the Super Bowl.
Gronkowski didn’t play in the Super Bowl last year due to injury and caught eight passes for 94 yards and a touchdown in his first two trips.
