Are you ready for the cross-branding promotion of the Super Bowl? Here’s Kia and Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean joining forces to sell Kia’s new sports car, and it’s powerful:
Super Bowl commercials 2018: Kia’s ad features Captain Jack Sparrow, and it really makes you think
What do you get for a pirate who is already dead? A sporty automobile.

If you’re not familiar with the history of Captain Jack Sparrow, it goes like this: He’s “one of the nine pirate lords in the Brethren Court, the Pirate Lords of the Seven Seas,” and he’s the ghost of a dead pirate, who was marooned on a deserted island and left to die.
Here he is, behind the wheel of a sweet, sweet Kia Stinger, reclaiming his youth and atoning for past missteps. He is born anew, just like he fantasized of while on that deserted island, left to die of starvation. He dreamt of his youth, and here it is again in car form.
Did Captain Jack Sparrow have a car hundreds of years ago? It doesn’t matter. In heaven, you get the maximum happiness from the future as well as the past. He will have the same look of satisfaction when he drives a Kia Laser Glider in a different reality. In this, he has reclaimed his life.
I, for one, am happy for Captain Jack Sparrow. He’s earned this.
