Erin Hamlin will be the flag bearer for the U.S. at this year’s Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.
Erin Hamlin named USA’s flag bearer for Winter Olympics


Hamlin took home the bronze medal in women’s luge during the 2014 games in Sochi — the first time an American medaled in the singles portion of the event. Hamlin also won three medals during the 2017 World Championships.
“It was a pretty big shock,” said the the four-time Olympian. “But it is an honor and a privilege to to be recognized by all of team USA like that.”
The opening ceremony for this year’s games kicks off Friday and flag bearers for all countries will be front and center. As for Hamlin, she’s hoping to continue her run at this year’s games when women’s luge starts on Feb. 12.
