Beginning with the Parade of Nations, the opening ceremony for the 2018 Winter Olympics shouldn’t disappoint.

One of the more popular viewing events of the Olympics, the opening ceremony features a combination of traditional festivities and creative performances. Beginning with the Parade of Nations, each country’s delegates will march around Pyeongchang Olympic Stadium to begin the program. Team USA will be led by four-time Olympian Erin Hamlin — the first American to ever medal in singles luge after winning bronze in 2014.

The show will continue with the official opening of the games by South Korea’s head of state, the torch relay will come to an end with the lighting of the ceremonial Olympic flame, and the grand finale is expected to include a grand fireworks display. Throughout the event, celebrities from near and far will take the stage, with grand gestures honoring the host country of South Korea and welcoming those from around the world.
The opening ceremony will kick off the two-week schedule of competitions featuring the best winter athletes across the globe. A couple of events were underway ahead of the celebratory opening, including a curling round robin and ski jump qualification rounds. But most will get started over the next few days.
