It’s no secret every team that needs a quarterback is more than likely interested in Kirk Cousins. But did Cousins accidentally let everyone know it’s really a two-team race between the Jets and the Vikings?
Did Kirk Cousins accidentally tell everyone he’ll either sign with the Vikings or Jets?
We’ll find out soon enough which team will land Cousins.

Cousins shared a farewell message to Washington and its fans on his website. It’s a very sweet note. He expressed his gratitude for the experience he had with the team, thanked the fans, and said some nice things about his teammates. It’s all pretty standard stuff ... until you get to the tags at the bottom of the page.
The Vikings and Jets are both teams with needs at quarterback and reported interest in Cousins, but there are no tags for the Cardinals or the Broncos or any other teams that might be in the mix.
So is Cousins trying to tell us something? Maybe he was, because it didn’t take long for the post to be updated.

OK, fine, there probably was no hidden message here. The Jets and Vikings seem like the most obvious and logical landing spots for Cousins.
The Vikings are reportedly in the lead, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. And the Jets — unlike the Broncos and Cardinals — have a boatload of cap space to make Cousins an offer he can’t refuse.
But as long as we are analyzing Cousins’ website tags, let’s talk about the fact he included the word “happy” in there.
No matter which team he ends up with, Cousins won’t be playing under the franchise tag and he’ll have more security with a multi-year deal. Oh, and he’ll almost certainly be the highest-paid player in the NFL.
That “happy” tag seems appropriate.
