UCLA Bruins fans took to the skies again to voice their displeasure for one of their coaches, this time with men’s basketball coach Steve Alford the target of the latest skywriting ire in Los Angeles.
UCLA fans take to the skies to call for Steve Alford’s firing

Hey, it already worked once, so why not?
A banner that flew over UCLA in Westwood on Thursday read “Final Fours not First Fours. #FIREALFORD.”
This comes two days after the Bruins were dispatched in the First Four, losing to St. Bonaventure 65-58 in Dayton. It was a disappointing end to a disappointing season for UCLA, one that began with three players getting arrested for shoplifting in China and ultimately kicked off the team. It ended 21-12 with a third place finish in the Pac-12 and a conference tournament semifinal loss to Arizona.
Alford is 117-57 (.672) in five years at UCLA with three trips to the Sweet 16 during his tenure.
This banner tactic was successful — or at least coincidental — during football season, with UCLA fans flying a banner over the school in November that read “Guerrero, 9-16 the last 25 games. No Mora!”
Eight days later football coach Jim Mora was fired by athletic director Dan Guerrero and replaced soon after by Chip Kelly.
Maybe this tactic will work one mora time for Bruins fans.
