THIS IS MARCH. The playoff race in the NBA’s Western Conference is still bonkers. In the East, the Heat and Bucks can’t decide how low they’d like to slide in the rankings. And, of course, the NCAA tournament is underway. Basketball is happening literally everywhere you look.
NBA B-Sides: Stephen Curry’s 30th birthday party was layers of perfection
Plus, several other reasons to love the NBA this week, featuring Dwyane Wade roasting his buddies and more.
But most importantly, I would like to dedicate an entire section of this B-Sides to Steph Curry’s surprise 30th birthday party.
Curry turned 30 earlier this week, and his wife Ayesha threw a huge bash for him. The Currys rolled up on a yacht — yes, a yacht — to a huge party Curry knew nothing about. The entire Warriors team was there, as were Curry’s friends and family, E40, and Paramore. The party was so good they had to cancel practice the next day.
It’s B-Sides gold and I will be thinking about it for a very long time.

You want to know how little Curry is worried about falling behind the Rockets in the standings? He’s celebrating his 30th birthday while eating ribs in a WHITE SHIRT. The Warriors are fine.
2. Klay Thompson got on the stage, started dancing, took off his shoe, and threw it into the crowd
I can’t get over how unnecessary it was to take off only one shoe and throw it, but I can’t get enough of it.
3. Steve Kerr dancing exactly like I’d expect Steve Kerr to dance
Don’t think I forgot about you, Mike Brown.

Again, the Warriors are worried about nothing.
5. Paramore singing happy birthday and more
Listen, Paramore ... OK, Hayley Williams ... is my absolute favorite. The fact that Ayesha had Hayley show up as part of the surprise party put me over the edge. What a damn party.
Curry was pretty excited about it too.
