Greatest Royal Rumble results: Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt win Raw tag team titles

WONDERFUL.

WWE.com

Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt make strange bedfellows. They also make up your new Raw tag team champions.

The unlikely duo defeated The Bar at the Greatest Royal Rumble, crushing Cesaro and Sheamus’s hopes of a fifth tag team reign. Instead, The Bar will have to lick their wounds on Smackdown after being Superstar Shaken-up to the brand two weeks ago.

The fans in Jeddah broke out their phones to serve as Wyatt’s “fireflies” during his entrance, but the biggest pop went to The Bar, who received a warm welcome in Jeddah despite their status as heels. The match started with some of Hardy’s trademark late-career weirdness and a handful of “DELETE” chants before a little low-key cheating pushed the momentum back to the European connection of the Swiss Superman and the Irish, uh ... Lobster?

Hardy battled through peril before rallying behind Wyatt, who moves like a tank but has the engine of, well let’s say a Toyota Camry, at the very least. A hot tag brought the Eater of Worlds into the match, where he dispatched The Bar to even the match. A little more cheating put the bad guys back in control, but Wyatt was able to counter a Brogue Kick into his Sister Abigail finisher before Hardy could finish Sheamus with an elevated, two-man Twist of Fate to earn the titles.

Should I rewatch this match later?: Sure. It wasn’t anything especially great, but it was fun. The Bar heeled it up well and Hardy and Wyatt were on point with their nonsense taunts, which somehow remains entertaining.
