Jinder Mahal’s bad month got even worse in Saudi Arabia. After losing his U.S. title 11 days ago and suffering an upset loss to Chad Gable the following week, the Modern Day Maharaja fell short in his championship rematch with Jeff Hardy at the Greatest Royal Rumble.
Greatest Royal Rumble results: Jeff Hardy retains U.S. Championship in sloppy match
Don’t worry about re-watching this one. It’ll be on Botchamania.

Mahal earned the first real boos of the night when Sunil Singh told the crowd to stand up and show some respect to the former WWE Champion. Hardy, on the other hand, got his standard, somewhat inexplicable hero’s welcome.
Hardy got off to a fast start, at one point even crashing off the ring barricade to blast the challenger.
It wouldn’t last. Singh’s interference allowed Mahal to regain the momentum moments later. The former champion controlled the match for the next few minutes before a Hardy comeback unleashed his greatest move of all; completely missing the Whisper in the Wind.
That brought Singh up for more interference, but it wouldn’t pay off. He couldn’t hit his Khallas finisher, and a Swanton Bomb closed the curtain on what would have been a pretty forgettable match if not for all the missed spot weirdness in the middle.
Should I rewatch this match later?: Nah, all the best parts will be part of next week’s Botchamania video anyway.
