Victor Oladipo’s letter to a fan battling leukemia will warm your heart

We are #CameronStrong

Victor Oladpio’s season has been inspiring on many levels. After he was traded from the Thunder to the Pacers, he transformed into a superstar for an Indiana team with low expectations as they entered the regular season. But he filled that Paul George-sized hole and then some, especially when he and the Pacers took the Cleveland Cavaliers to seven games in the playoffs.

And on top of that, he was immediately ready to get back to work 16 minutes after his season ended. That’s all just a long-winded way of saying that Oladipo’s work ethic is admirable and is motivating his fans to never give up.

One fan in particular, Cameron, is currently battling leukemia. And when Victor found out this young fan was going through a tough time, he wrote him some words of encouragement. Cameron’s mother shared the letter on Twitter:

Hey Cameron!

I recently heard about your battle with leukemia, and I just wanted to encourage you to stay strong! I know this is a scary and very frustrating time right now, but you must believe in yourself and everyone around you that is helping you through this time.

May God give you the strength, comfort, and special blessings that you need as you face each new day. No matter the road you are given, remember to never give up. You never know what God has planned for your life.

I wish you all the best through your treatment and encourage you to keep a positive attitude and listen to your doctors, nurses, and parents — they are there to help you win this battle! All my teammates and I are #CameronStrong.

All the best,
Victor Oladipo

It doesn’t get any more sentimental than this. Oladipo sending this letter is more impactful than probably anyone realizes. And not only does Cameron have the support from Oladipo, the entire Pacers’ franchise is behind him. Oladipo is a class act.

Get better soon, Cameron. We’re all #CameronStrong.
