Deandre Ayton needs to work on his tweets

Deandre Ayron posted a sponsored tweet out of a BoJack Horseman episode

Deandre Ayton is positioned to be one of the top picks in the NBA Draft this year, but he still needs to work on a few fundamentals — not on the court, but online.

On Wednesday, he posted a sponsored tweet but it seems like he didn’t read all of it. The text obviously came from a PR person who had hoped that Ayton would read it and modify it with his own voice. Instead, Ayton copy and pasted into a tweet that looked like it belongs on an episode of BoJack Horseman.

Technically, he could have left the tweet up since the only requirement was to have both hashtags in it — which it does. But Ayton deleted the original tweet to give the sponsored content a more natural vibe.

This isn’t the first time that an athlete has botched tweeting an ad. Who can forget DeSean Jackson’s tweet for the ESPYs which said, “Desean, can you please tweet this for the ESPYs party for tonight:’Chillin’ at the @ESPYS #NokiaPrePart. It’s awesome.”

And more recently, 2017 NBA No. 1 overall pick Markelle Fultz did the same thing! If Ayton goes No.1, it’ll be back to back first overall picks to do this which means this is the universe speaking to us via sponsored content or something.

Congrats on going to (city) with the (number) selection in the 2018 NBA Draft, Ayton!
