Another should-have-been quiet Tuesday in the NFL turned into a pretty newsy day.
The 2021 NFL offseason is going to be crazy, or terrible, or both
Wednesday’s Rise ‘n Grind reviews the onset of trouble coming for LeSean McCoy, issues with the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement, and our new favorite hashtag.

That was started off early in the morning with troubling news about Bills running back LeSean McCoy, which keeps taking new turns. What we know for sure is nothing that’s been reported up to this point is certain. With that said, it all looks frighteningly bad.
McCoy has been accused of being involved in the beating of a woman who was once his girlfriend. The initial accusations have been deleted from Instagram, but others remain, as do court documents spelling out trouble throughout the offseason between McCoy and the alleged victim. Here’s what’s been reported and what we know at this point, which isn’t much as the details remain murky.
Elsewhere, NFL agent Greg Linton spoke to SB Nation’s Adam Stites about Los Angeles Chargers offensive tackle Russell Okung’s rant on non-guaranteed contracts and the issues with the NFL’s Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
The current CBA runs out after the 2020 NFL season, which is going to make the 2021 offseason a wild one as NFL players fight for their rights and NFL owners fight for their wallets.
”Poor NFL owners,” said no one ever.
The story is a great read pointing to some of the issues NFL players often discuss. That includes the lack of guarantees in NFL contracts compared to other sport leagues in the United States, the issue of “dead money” in contracts and how the CBA is actually making that worse than it needs to be for players, and what’s ahead when the NFLPA goes to battle for its players in 2021.
“The narratives that are being pushed on what the players want, in my opinion, aren’t very realistic from the league’s standpoint,” Linton said. “You want guaranteed contracts, that’s fine. There’s nothing stopping you from getting guaranteed contracts. That does not have to be in the CBA; Kirk Cousins got one. So you’re fighting for guaranteed contracts, but why?”
