Shaquille O’Neal asked fans to name his new boat and got absolutely roasted

“Call it ‘free throw’ so you won’t ever sink it.”

You’d think a man who hosts a television segment called “Shaqtin’ a Fool” would be on his toes when it comes to getting clowned. And yet, when Shaquille O’Neal took to Facebook to show off his new boat, he lobbed up an alley oop for internet fans to dunk all over him.

O’Neal asked fans to help him name his “new toy.” The very first response was savage.

Call it “Free Throw” so you won’t ever sink it.

Andy Yang, you are a bad man.

The rest of the replies are mostly nonsense, with a few gems tossed in for good measure. Some people used the opportunity to tell Shaq all about their boats, which are surely as stately as the man who made more than $292 million in NBA contracts alone over a 19-year career. Others suggested he name it “The General,” after the cartoon character whose insurance he endorses for some reason. Several others worked to coerce Shaq to allow them on the boat for a personalized cruise before giving up any of their suggestions.

So yes, Facebook is still pretty much the worst. Unless you’ve got the perfect burn for Shaquille O’Neal’s new boat. Then, in that one shining moment, you see the potential Mark Zuckerberg saw back when he was just an undergrad at Harvard, looking for a way to more effectively creep on the girls in his classes.
