The ESPYs were held last night, with many of the biggest athletes and entertainers in attendance to acknowledge and reward sports greatness. But we were also treated to a phenomenal moment in human history.

Ciara’s just cooler than Russ.
Shiggy, who helped catapult Drake’s “In My Feelings” to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with his viral dance challenge, was in attendance. Upon meeting Russell Wilson and Ciara, a photo opportunity presented itself. It was only appropriate, since the talented couple posted their own video of them — sorry, just Ciara, really — doing the dance.
Shiggy pulled the ultimate power move, and told Russ to step aside and stay out of the picture:
Do-you-realize. How-much-sauce. You-must-have. To-do-that.
Now, to be fair, if there’s a star athlete that you’re going to tell to step aside while you take a photo with their significant other, Russ is high on that list. Shiggy’s also got to be on an all-time confidence high after meeting Drake the night the song went No. 1.
Russ posted a video of him joking with Shiggy about the picture on Instagram with the caption, “U lucky I like ur Lil shiggy dance. Next time u gettin da stiff arm.”

Don’t get me wrong, a picture with both of them would be dope too. Ciara’s just a lot cooler than Russ, and Russ knows that. I respect him for understanding it and getting out of the way so as to not water down the picture.
A wise man (Future) once said, “You do what you want when you poppin’” and that’s what Shiggy did. Props.
