Back on May 25, 13-year-old Ella Whistler was shot seven times at Indiana’s Noblesville West Middle School. Being tough as hell, she survived the incident — and on Sunday, she showed up at the Indianapolis Colts’ training camp to pass some of that strength on to Andrew Luck and the rest of the team.
Colts honored school shooting survivor Ella Whistler by letting her break down their huddle
“If we were all as tough as you, we’d probably win a bunch of Super Bowls.”

Whistler was invited to break down the team huddle, capping off practice with a “1-2-3 Ellastrong” barely two months after undergoing emergency surgery.
“If we were all as tough as you, we’d probably win a bunch of Super Bowls,” Luck told the Indiana teen as she took the field to a round of applause from Colts players. “That’s frickin’ awesome. You mind breaking us down?”
It’s not the first time the team has gone out of its way to honor the victims of the shooting in Noblesville, a suburb approximately 30 miles north of downtown Indianapolis. Back in May, players and coaches wore special T-shirts to official team activities with Whistler’s initials, and the No. 91 teacher Jason Seaman wore as a college football player at Southern Illinois University. Seaman was shot three times while subduing the shooter in his science classroom.
Whistler returns to school today, Aug. 1, because she is a badass.
