Did you watch the Hall of Fame Game? If so, pat yourself on the back! It wasn’t an easy game to watch.
1 down, 64 more NFL preseason games to go
What you missed if you (understandably) slept through the NFL Hall of Fame Game. Plus more of the latest NFL news in Friday’s Rise ‘n Grind.

There were two interceptions (one for the Bears and one for the Ravens) in the opening moments, the later of which offered up the first catch rule debate of the new league year.
Minutes later there was a penalty based on the new helmet rules. It wasn’t the only one. Plus, there were unnecessary roughness calls sprinkled throughout the game.
Bears fullback Michael Burton scored the first touchdown of the preseason on a pass from Chase Daniel. And Ravens quarterback Robert Griffin III played pretty well in his quest to make a roster (probably not the Ravens’ roster) in 2018, going 7 for 11 for 58 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
Ravens rookie quarterback and 2016 Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson had a forgettable debut. That was to be expected and not something to overreact about. He played for the entire second half and went 4 for 10 for 33 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. He also added 25 yards on the ground. The touchdown was nice and a look to the future for the Ravens as Jackson connected with fellow rookie first round pick Hayden Hurst.
That’s about all you need to know. For just about everyone, it was your standard, meaningless Hall of Fame Game. For Ravens and Bears fans, it was awesome.
