The plays of the night between the Seahawks and the Bears weren’t made by Russell Wilson, Khalil Mack, or Prince Amukamara. They were made by one of the most exciting players in the league — a punter.
Grading Michael Dickson’s drop kicks, the Seahawks’ best play against the Bears
Michael Dickson is the only player to make us look forward to punting.

Seahawks punter Michael Dickson had one of the biggest highlights of the week when he did a drop kickoff that landed on the 1-yard line. Drop kicks are extremely rare in the NFL so to see one, let alone a successful one, is always cool.
Dickson was the big reason to watch Monday night’s game between the Seahawks and the Bears and he didn’t disappoint. Grades are a fun way to review funny things that happen in NFL games, so let’s give out grades to the two drop punts that Dickson gave us tonight.
Drop punt #1: A+ for execution
When you got it, flaunt it. The punt was received on the 1-yard line, which is the perfect situation for any kickoff. Anthony Miller the returned it to the 15-yard line, a difference of 10 yards if it had just been a touchback.
Drop punt #2: A+ for innovation
Dickson later attempted a drop kick onside kick to potentially give Seattle another chance in the waning seconds, but the Bears recovered and milked out the clock for a win.
Sebastian Janikowski has never successfully hit an onside kick in his career, so this gives a better glimpse into the Seahawks’ decision making.
Overall Grade: A+ for execution on one and innovation on the other
Dickson was one for two on the night with drop kicks, and since we don’t have any other two drop kick performances to compare it to this season, we’ll give an A+ and a job well done sticker for keeping us entertained.
