Ben Simmons off-the-back inbounds dunk is the perfect start to 2019

Welcome to 2019.

2019 wasn’t even a day old before Ben Simmons dropped one of the most disrespectful clips of the year.

It’s impossible not to love this, unless you’re a Clippers fan, I suppose — and even then you probably need to lighten up. Simmons was inbounding the ball with 15.9 seconds on the clock in a four point game when he realized that the only help he needed in getting the bucket wasn’t a teammate, but Sindarius Thornwell’s back.

This belongs in the annals of great off-the-back inbounds along with Michael Jordan, and Rajon Rondo, who stunted on Dwyane Wade in the 2012 NBA Finals.

As for Simmons’, I think he might have the best even because of bonus points awarded for Doc Rivers’ reaction, which was just perfect.
