Boston Marathon 2019: Route, map, and street closures on Patriots’ Day
The Boston Marathon is set for Monday, and we have all you need to know.

The action begins at 9 a.m. ET, but the elite groups don’t get started until the elite women go at 9:32 a.m. and the elite men go at 10 a.m. Television coverage will be provided by NBCSN, with WBZ-TV getting the local coverage (live streaming via fuboTV, NBC Sports, NBC Sports Gold, CBS Boston (Local) NBC Sports Apps).
No woman has won back-to-back races since 2004-05, but Des Linden will be trying to do just that. Edna Kiplagat, Mare Dibaba, and Worknesh Degefa are among other elite women to watch out for. Jordan Hasay is another American woman who might be able to push for a win.
Yuki Kawauchi will be defending his title, and there is the usual crop of excellent runners he’ll have to contend with, including Lelisa Desisa, Dathan Ritzenhein, Lawrence Cherono and Geoffrey Kirui, among others.
As always, the 26-mile course runs through the heart of Boston, from the start line in Hopkinton to the finish line on Boylston Street.
You can find a full list of street closures and other notices over at Boston.com. And below, we have a course map, courtesy of the official website.
