Everything you need to know about the 2021 Puppy Bowl

It’s finally here. The Big Game. The one everyone has been waiting for. Team Ruff vs. Team Fluff. Last year’s Puppy Bowl was thrilling, as Team Fluff came away with the Lombarky Trophy thanks to a late TD for a 63-59 win. Team Ruff will certainly be looking for revenge this year, and they have the athletes to pull it off.

Puppy Bowl XVII will take place today, February 7, at 2 p.m. ET on Animal Planet and streaming on Discovery+. Martha Stewart and her BFF Snoop Dogg are tackling the event as hosts this year, with Stewart repping Team Ruff and Snoop taking Fluff. Not sure why Snoop gets the “Coach” moniker here and Martha doesn’t, but we’ll roll with it.

There are 69 very good pups participating in this year’s Puppy Bowl, all of which are available to adopt (or have been adopted). Let’s take a moment to get to know some of the very good pups. You can check out — and should check out — the full list of very good pups here.

You can tell that someone just said the word “treat.” Or “walk.” Or “trip.”

This was a very tough decision, but ultimately Cosmo EARned himself the nod here. The combination of flop and multi-directional ear action pushed Cosmo over the edge.

First of all, great name my lil’ Chunky Monkey. Second of all, the level of floof here is off the charts amazing. Thank goodness Chunk is on the aptly named Team Fluff, otherwise there would be some strongly worded letters heading to Animal Planet HQ.

This is 75 percent bandana, 25 percent dog, and 100 percent absolutely too cute to handle.

Minnie, whatever you want I will give it to you. Ear scratches? Done. Treats? Here are all the treats I have. Cuddles? I will never let you go.

I mean look at this absolute athlete. The drive. The build. The determination. This lion dog will score a touchdown, mark my word.

I love this dog, and her name, and her ears, and her head tilt. She’s perfect and very sassy. 12/10.
