Super Bowl 59 gets underway just after 6:30 p.m. ET with the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs facing off in a rematch of Super Bowl 57. The Chiefs won that game after Harrison Butker kicked a game-winning field goal with eight seconds left. Now the Chiefs are looking to complete the threepeat they started with that victory.

The game was preceded by Jon Batiste singing the Star-Spangled Banner and then the team captains for the Eagles and Chiefs meeting at the 50-yard line for the pre-game coin toss. The Chiefs were the visiting team, so they got the chance to call heads or tails. They picked TAILS and WON the coin toss. They elected to defer receiving ball to the second half, and so the Eagles will kick off. That means the Eagles will receive the kickoff to start the second half.

The past two Super Bowls, the Chiefs have won the toss and also gone on to win the game. Last year, the 49ers called tails and it ended up heads. The year prior, the Chiefs called tails and got it right.

Ahead of the game, FanDuel Sportsbook offered equal odds for the coin toss results with heads and tails both sitting at -104. They also gave each team equal odds to win the coin toss, with both the Eagles and Chiefs at -104. The odds to win the coin toss and also win the game had the Chiefs installed at +260 and the Eagles installed at +310.
