So, your favorite team is coming to Charlotte for this summer’s FIFA Club World Cup, but you know very little about the city, the stadium and what to expect from all of it?

Our soccer team at SBNation, in partnership with Michelob Ultra, are here to answer your frequently asked questions and deliver a mini breakdown of sorts of each city, from the teams to expect to the places you need to check out while you’re in town.

Here’s what to look forward to in Nashville.

What teams are coming to Nashville?

Nashville will showcase three group stage matches inside the home of Major League Soccer franchise Nashville SC. This arena is the newest of any being used for the Club World Cup and has already hosted both U.S. men’s and women’s national team matches.

Those games are (all times Eastern):

  • Friday, June 20: Club León vs. Espérance Sportive de Tunis in Group D, 5 p.m.
  • Tuesday, June 24: Auckland City FC vs. Boca Juniors in Group C, 2 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 26: Al Hilal vs. CF Pachuca in Group H, 8 p.m.

Who do I contact to inquire about tickets, guest services and parking?

While starting with FIFA.com, the official ticket provider for the Club World Cup is your starting point to get in the game, Geodis Park has a comprehensive list of who to connect with for all of the above, including parking information and how to secure a spot even before you arrive.

I don’t have a ticket but I want to check out the game. Any suggestions?

While many establishments have live broadcasts of soccer, these are the ones we’ve been told should be full of fans for the game.

Teddy’s Tavern: We’re told it’s the place to go if you’re looking for a good burger. Sure, you might be in Tennessee and there are good burger spots all over but to mix good food and good soccer sounds like a win-win to us. | 104 Rep. John Lewis Way South, website.

FBL-SAL-PACHUCA-FRIENDLY
CF Pachuca fans should pack Nashville’s Geodis Park for their June 26 game against Al Hilal.

Fogg Street Lawn Club: Considered Nashville’s top soccer spot, the setup of this establishment is inviting for soccer aficionados and casual fans alike. There’s a rooftop setting complete with lanes for lawn bowling lanes, and even more TVs to watch all of the Club World Cup action. | 648 Fogg Street, website.

Batters Box: Sure, the name screams baseball joint, but we’re told that Batters Box is a laid-back location to watch any soccer too. Great food and drink specials and a bright atmosphere puts this spot on our list of a place to go if you want to watch the game without all the fan frenzy attached to it. | 43 Hermitage Avenue, 615-242-0910.

I’m in Nashville for a few days. What should I do?

If you want to stay a stone’s throw away from Geodis Park, then the Wedgewood-Houston section of the city is a pretty cool neighborhood full of places to get a bite, shops, art galleries and more. Wedgewood, also known as WeHo, gets you outside of the busyness of downtown Nashville, but offers a good neighborhood vibe.

For those looking for a more family-friendly experience? The Nashville Zoo is a popular attraction in Music City, and is near Geodis Park.
