Minjee Lee is the name to watch in California over the weekend.

Ingrid Lindblad holds the lead at the JM Eagle LA Championship through two rounds, but the LPGA’s final event before its first major of the season could still go a number of different ways.

Lindblad sat at 13-under par as of the second round’s conclusion and that was good for a tie for first with Ashleigh Buhai.

All due respect to Lindblad and Buhai the name that might bear the most attention sits one stroke back in Minjee Lee. While Lee has yet to win so far this season, her brother Min Woo won for the first time on the PGA Tour a few weeks ago in Houston, she is lurking and is of high enough pedigree to where she should arguably be considered the favorite.

In fact, consider that Minjee has the highest win-probability following the second round at 15.9%. The second-closest is Miyu Yamashita at 12.3% which means Minjee’s lead in that sense is rather comfortable.

This is all for good reason as Minjee had a bogey-free round on Friday. She appears to be finding proper form as the weekend gets set to play and as the Chevron Championship lurks next week. The Chevron of course is in the same city that Min Woo won in Houston.

Perhaps everything is coming up Minjee Lee right now.
